Practical survival and protection education for students
Our female facilitators help students understand fear, recognise warning signs, set boundaries and practise ways to seek help and protect themselves. We cover healthy relationships, consent, bullying, and harassment, with content adapted to students' ages and your school's needs.
Choose one of our presentations or workshops, or a longer program tailored to your timetable and budget. Talk to us about delivery at your school, including regional Queensland.
Our school-based workshops, courses and presentations
Fierce Females is a female-led charity, registered with the ACNC. For over a decade, we've worked with schools to give students practical survival and protection skills for school, online and life beyond the classroom.
Every program pairs an understanding of what happens in the body and mind under pressure with hands-on practice of what to do about it. Topics include:
Understanding fear, and why people freeze
Recognising warning signs, online and offline
Boundaries and consent
Healthy relationships
Bullying and harassment
Who to tell, and how to ask for help
Practical protection skills: using your voice, body language and simple physical techniques to create space and get away
We work with students from Year 1 to Year 12 and tailor the content to each age group. Sessions can run in class time, as an afternoon sport option, or before or after school.
Additionally, we deliver programs at schools across Australia, and we're committed to reaching students in regional and rural Queensland, where this kind of education can be hard to access.
A program tailored to your school
Every school is different, so we build each program around yours.
Tell us your year levels, student numbers, and what your school community is dealing with right now, along with your time and budget. We'll send you a program outline and quote before booking anything. Then our female facilitators come to your school with everything needed.
Choose from:
Presentations (45-60 minutes) for year-level assemblies and wellbeing days
Interactive workshops (half or full day) for hands-on practice with one cohort
Multi-day programs for camps, intensives and wellbeing weeks
Find Your Fierce, our weekly program that runs over a term or semester
Find Your Fierce is our longest-running school program. Students meet weekly over a term or semester, so they practise skills often enough for them to stick, not just hear them once at an assembly.
Over the program, students learn how violence and fear work, how to stay calmer under pressure, and how to keep themselves as safe as possible in the minutes between calling for help and help arriving. Each session pairs the "why" with plenty of hands-on practice.
Because it runs weekly, trainers get to know the group, and students have the time to build skills and confidence at their own pace.
Simply choose the number of modules that suits your timetable. Ask about Find Your Fierce when enquiring online.

“…gained so much valuable knowledge…“
The space is so calming and the reception ladies were super nice and helpful. Amanda was the most amazing teacher, she was very patient, kind and helpful and I gained so much valuable knowledge on boxing. I felt so included and comfortable during this class and can’t wait to come back.

“…life changing“
Seriously ladies, this is life changing. They meet you where you are. The classes are casual and non judgmental. There genuine passion for the program shines. If you don't know where to start. Don't know how, this is the place. Empower yourself.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
“Easy and considerate learning“
Great class. Expert instructors. Easy and considerate learning. Beneficial for all age women. Instructors happy to work with suggestions. I found I preferred more practical and Instructors happy to accommodate request.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
“…taught me some practical skills that I hope I never have to use“
I was referred to Fierce Females when I sought out self defence classes after a traumatic event. I didn't know what to expect but from my first meeting I was put at ease. I could pick a session time that suited my work schedule which helped me commit to booking. I leant things about myself that I didnt even know i did when i feel uncomfortable. Amanda helped me to push myself out of my comfort zone and taught me some practical skills that I hope I never have to use. I was made to feel welcome, heard and safe (and the exercise helped too).
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
“…should be mandatory at schools“
Extremely empowering, educational and life changing! Much more than expected, especially for such a small investment. Amanda is absolutely awesome, instructing us with kindness, respect while teaching us bad ass defense moves! Most important, was learning how to respect ourselves, by using our brain, body and voice to protect ourselves! Recommend to all females of any age, should be mandatory at schools. Super grateful for all that Amanda and her Fierce Females are doing for our community 🙏🥰🤩
