Amanda Giblin: Winner of 2024 Westfield Local Hero

We are incredibly proud to announce that Amanda Giblin, founder of Fierce Females, has been named the 2024 Westfield Helensvale Local Hero!

This recognition comes with a generous $20,000 community grant from Westfield, which will help us continue our mission of empowering women and girls across the Northern Gold Coast and Helensvale community. The funds will enable us to welcome a new team member, allowing an additional 660 women to participate in our self-defence and empowerment programs.

Amanda has dedicated the past ten years to creating a safer, more empowered community. Our programs have equipped over 5,000 women with essential skills to defend themselves and foster resilience. They focus on those critical moments between calling for help and the arrival of first responders, reducing re-victimisation and empowering participants to break the cycle of abuse.

"This recognition from the community is an honour and a testament to our impact,” Amanda shared. “At Fierce Females, we believe every woman deserves to live free from fear. This grant will allow us to reach more women who need our support, helping them on their journey toward healing and empowerment.”
